We all want the world to be a better place. But the world is big… really big. How are any one of us going
to be able to make a difference? It all starts with supporting our local communities. What better way to
build up the community around us than to donate to charity? As a resident of Idaho, it can be hard to
find and support Idaho charities. Well not anymore.

Here we will guide you to the single easiest way to donate to Idaho charities online for free. That’s right.
You don’t have to leave your home or spend even one extra dollar.

STEP ONE: GO TO AMAZON SMILE

It all starts with Amazon Smile. Go to this link to sign up. What does Amazon Smile even do? Every time
you make a purchase on Amazon, they will donate 0.05% of your spending to the charity of your choice
at no extra cost to you! I’m not even kidding. They do it all for you.

Can you imagine how much you could have donated in 2020 when you spent all that stimulus money on
power tools to finally finish that patio project you’ve been working on for 3 years? Now imagine if
everyone who shopped on amazon did this.

Let’s do some quick math. There are about 2,000,000 Amazon Prime members. Each one spends, on
average, $1,400 a year on Amazon. If every one of those members signed up on Amazon Smile, we could
donate over $1,400,000 a year to charity. That’s more money than I’ll ever see in my lifetime.

STEP TWO: CHOOSE A CHARITY

So now that you’ve signed up on Amazon Smile you have a decision to make. Choosing a charity can be
hard, but as a wise man once said, “Lift where you stand.” -Dieter F. Uchtdorf. If we all “lift where we
stand” and support our local communities, we can lift the world as a whole.

As a resident of Idaho, I can’t recommend enough to choose IDFAPA (Idaho Foster and Adoptive Parents
Association). IDFAPA is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to improve the care and support of
foster and adoptive children in the state of Idaho.

Many children who enter the foster system do so with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. The people at IDFAPA do everything in their power to change this. By building and maintaining a foster care closet called “The Village,” IDFAPA provides more than just clothes to the foster children of Idaho. They are stocked with hygiene products, toys, school supplies, food, and more. Learn more about The Village here.

If you want to help IDFAPA out just a little more than Amazon Smile, check out their page on Ways to Give. Here you can learn about the many ways you can support them and their righteous cause.

STEP THREE: SHOP

You’ve signed up on Amazon Smile, and you’ve picked a good local charity, now what? Shop! It’s as easy as that. Amazon Smile will automatically calculate and donate a portion of your purchase to charity.

Now get out there, buy what you need, and feel good doing it!
