Our Introduction

We care. We offer support.
It's what we do.

Idaho Foster & Adoptive Parent Association (IDFAPA) is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to improve care and support foster and adoptive children in the state of Idaho.

We provide resources for foster youth and their families. We seek to promote community education and awareness of issues and needs of foster and adoptive children and their families. We cover all seven regions throughout Idaho and are working to expand the care and support we can offer in each region.

Become a Foster Parent

Children and teens enter foster care through no fault of their own. It can be due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, death of parent or a medical need, leading to the inability to continue living safely. Foster parents play a critical role in helping these children heal. They show children stability and teach them lessons that last a lifetime—and potentially affect future generations.

Idaho Children’s Trust Fund 2023 Pinwheel Award

The Idaho Children’s Trust Fund 2023 Pinwheel Award was presented at the Strengthening Families Training in March. It was given in recognition for our contribution to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. We were recognized for our work to advocate for the wellbeing of Idaho’s children who are in foster care.
